    Highlands page 1

Interior page, watercolor over inks. Experimenting more to see if this is viable.

Thanks TG! Honestly, I couldn't answer that since I don't really do digital. But I can work fairly quickly with watercolor. Especially with heavy inks, the watercolors are almost like flatting.

Works for me. I would think that a page should not take you more than 3 days (Pencils, inks, & colors). Otherwise I would reconsider.

Looks really good - the inking is really nice. The feeling of wind and cold comes over really good, the feeling of altitude as well.

Here and there I'd be tempted to add a bit more to the blacks, like the horse in panel two - just to make things a little clearer/dynamic. The horse's snout might be a little clearer with fewer highlights - it looks good, but might be more solid with more defined blacks.

Looks great, and more importantly it looks different.

    Thanks everyone.

Yeah, that isn't any "real" animal. But kind of a mountain buffalo.

That looks awesome! I never got to master watercolors. What kind of inks are those that they don't wash out with watercolors, and what scanner did you used? The image looks sharp as hell.

    Thanks aclouis, appreciate it.

I use speedball superblack India ink for the most part. With rapidograph pens for the finer details. But any decent quality India ink should do to trick as long as you let it dry before applying the watercolors.

Scanner used is a Mustek A3 USB. Does a decent job and scans 11x17"
