    Done. Sorry about that.
  2. I'm joining Pummel. If you haven't voted, do so now before the polls close.
  3. Symson: "I'm happy to give advice.

I purposely sat out the Spidey crits to see if the same cycle would repeat itself. It did. Since you deleted what you posted I can't see where it went off the rails, but you were already borderline.

I would prefer you call me and talk about this. It might have a better result.

    Call me Sunday at ******."

I didn't read this until Monday the 31st. I had a couple of things I was trying to get done before New Year's Eve………plus, it just felt like I'd better retreat from PJ for a bit until I had my head on straight, and something to contribute.

If there's another time to call, let me know.

    Thanks for replying.

I wanted to reply to your reply before communicating the other way, but you need to clear out some mail-space on your PJ account.

Hey hey - good to see someone interested in film and comics! My blog on my sig is mostly illustration and comics work... my other blog - is more of my film related work as a DP and production designer. Not been updated in a while but that should happen soon! :P

Are you receiving e-mails from PJ ? as of last weeks gone by for some reason I'm not getting any....Terry hopefully will figure it out...
    Sorry for not calling yet...
I do have a question....." is it possible to be able to work on some small projects and make a few bucks that would help make up time that I'm not getting to work on my regular job?"

Opportunity for Writer looking for Artist

by Symson on 10-17-2013 at 03:18 PM
I've been working on illustrations for a novel among other things. I was expecting to continue doing this for awhile, when the writer suddenly pushed the pause button, while he does some rewriting.

So I have a huge gap in my work schedule. I thought would try something different to fill it.

There have been attempts to work with writers here on Penciljack and elsewhere. Usually didn't happen because of money. The lack of or very little. Freelancing is what I do to make

I'll be giving a demo at The 2012 Long Beach Comic & Horror Con on Nov.4th at 2:00. I will show you step-by-step how to prepare a digital template for comics using Adobe Illustrator. Learn basic tools and other apps to use. Bring your laptop and you can follow along and leave with your own template ready to create your own comics and graphic novels! This process will also work for InDesign, QuarkXpress and Manga Studio.

As a bonus, I will take you through the process from pencils,

A guide to putting together your sequential art portfolio for submission

by Symson on 04-15-2012 at 10:09 AM
Your entire physical and online sequential art portfolio should be no more than 9 to 12 pages. Any more and you're just boring the person. The physical portfolio should be the original 11" x17" art.

Target your portfolio to the publisher you are submitting to; which means don't show Marvel characters to DC Comics and vice versa.

Present a complete scene within 3 or 4 pages. Each scene should showcase a different mood - action, normal, romantic, quiet, horror,

Erasers are not for mistakes
